Yet again Glasnevin's Saturday team turned on the style beating 4th place Tymon Bawn in the league this yesterday evening in Albert College. The first half finished scoreless thanks to some fine saves by both keepers. The Diggers came out flying in the second half and with 10 mins gone David O Brien opened the scoring when his powerful shot found the bottom corner of the Tymon goal. The lead didn't last too long as Tymon equalised soon after despite looking to be offside. Glenn Fleming put the home side back in front with a 30 yard effort into the top corner. From here on Glasnevin played a neat crisp passing game and made it 3-1 when in form striker Stephen Ryan scored his 9th goal in 5 games with a fantastic header. David O'Brien wrapped it up with an incredible 28th goal in 20 games. So many fantastic performances again however it was Glasnevin's young gun 19 year old Eoghan Breen who deserved the man of the match award for his performance at right back, getting tackles in to stop Tymon attacks and also pushing on to create chance for our strikers. A huge performance from the young man in his first season playing adult football.
